Free Online Digital Photography Tutorials
It’s all well and good having a nice sparkling digital camera, and knowing where you can get your prints done for free, but wouldn’t it be good if you could get lots of lessons on how to make the most of the camera for free too. Well you can! There are actually lots of sites out there who offer free tutorial guides on different aspects of digital photography that you can look at and learn from. Here we’ve gathered together a bit of information about some that we liked the look of.
The Geoff Lawence free tutorials site is a lovely site with a wide range of tutorials available. It is designed so that you follow each tutorial step by step to gain a better knowledge of digital photography and improve your skills. Each tutorial specifically focuses on one element of photography from selection, composition, lighting and exposure, to photo editing, and selling your photos.
Cambridge in Colour is another tutorial site that has quite a wide range of information available. It divides into sections such as Cameras, Imaging, Concepts, Tools & Techniques, Colour Management and Advanced. Then within each topic there are the individual tutorials.
A slightly different tutorial site is Hunt For. Instead of focusing on individual aspects of photography as the above two sites do, this one looks at areas where you might use the photo’s that you’ve taken, such as creating a slide show and adding photo images to your documents. We thought it might be good to include it here as a useful tool, even though it’s slightly different.

We also thought you might be interested in knowing about some digital photograpy magazines that are available. We’ve found this one called Digital photo magazine which even has a special 3 for £1 offer on it! Also, Photo Plus which is a new digital photography magazine and is available for £39.96 for 13 issues with a cover price of £3.99. A couple of other rather nice magazines – though sadly no special offer available on these ones, are Digital Photographer and Digital Camera. Both are full of useful information however.
